Ummm.......I have lots of shelves and cubbies etc. But we homeschool so my space needed is different. I do have a cubby from IKEA THAT I LOVE- one cubby per child- WORKS GREAT!!! **good thing it is a 4x4 ;) room for more. he he he he

Hoping someone with skillz shares more.

I'd love to see a picture of your file organizer! I keep clear tupperwear boxes on top of the refrigerator for each child. I keep the non-perishable items that they prefer in their respective boxes. It makes packing lunches quicker. I also have hanging shelf organizers for their weeks worth of school clothes. I marked two of the boxes with stickers so I will know to put clothes suitable for gym days in those. I'm anxious to hear everyone's tips!

In the past I have used those hanging sweater holders for closets in each child's closet. They have 6 slots so I put Monday's clothes in the top (with socks, hair bands, etc.) and then had one slot for each day of the school week. And then filled it back up again every Sunday. You can also mark the tags of each child's clothes (including a dot on the bottom of socks) with fabric paint or fabric markers. A different color for each child. For school lunches and snacks you could have a plastic bin for each child in the pantry that they choose their snacks for the week and put them in their bin and then you just throw one snack from their bin in their lunch each day.

We do homework immediately following a snack after school. For us it's better to have it done before dinner so that we have a relaxing evening. I color code all my kids for organizing. I also make sure everyone has a different brand of sock so I can easily identify who left their socks in the family room. Backpacks are loaded and lunches made the night before. Kitchen duty schedule is adjusted for school but everyone still has their time for cleaning up dinner or breakfast. Many hands make light work!

Get one of those hanger thingy bobbers....ok....that wasn't very helpful as I am sure they are not actually called hanger thingy bobbers....but whatever they are, they hold a uniform/set of clothes for each day of the week. You can find them at Target, or Walmart or Ikea. It hangs off the bar in the closet and drops about 3/4 of the way to the floor and is divided into 6 slots. Each of our kiddos has one and that is where a uniform and pair of socks for each day live. Every weekend I load it back up again for the next week's school days. It works beautifully. No hunting around for shirts, shorts or socks in the mornings, it's all right there and they get dressed by themselves before they come downstairs for breakfast. Hope that helps!

Here you go, I just found a link to one so you can see what I mean...ya know...in case you don't want to walk up to the nearest Target employee and say, "excuse me sir, which way to the hanger thingy bobbers?"

If that doesn't work just google, "days of the week hanging organizer." Ours don't have the days written on them but you'll get the idea. It also works well for me to put summer clothes in it for our three adopted kiddos who can't figure out how to match or put together an outfit just yet. It saves me from having to redress them everyday.

Oh man, I have lots of things to write but since we homeschool I'm not sure if some of them would work for you guys. I tell you what DOES work awesome though:
We have the SAME weekly breakfast and lunch menu. (Dinners I change up all the time, but they ALWAYS know what to expect for breakfast and lunch.)
So, for example:
Monday--oatmeal and fruit
Tuesday--turkey bacon and eggs
Wednesday--smoothies
Thursday--cinnamon rolls
Friday-whole grain pancakes
My shopping list is so simplified every week because of this and my kids love the predictability.
