Needed A Pick Me Up ...

My birthday was yesterday and I spent it at the hospital w/ Emily getting surgery on both eyes for a crazy thing that grew up in her eye lids ( I told ya crazy ... and they were not styes like ped thought) ... So it wasn't the best way to spend a birthday, but I was feeling pretty blessed and content in my life at 41 !!!  And then I got home and was looking at my calendar for the next day (today) and it said that I had another appointment back at Vandy again on Thursday ... I THINK THE WIND JUST WENT OUT OF MY SAIL ...  I was tired and just the thought of going BACK was to much to think about !!!  You see I was never a sick child growing up nor did I have a special disability that required CONSTANT visits to a doctor ... I don't even remember seeing a PED growing up (I remember my parents always telling me when I felt bad or hurt IT WAS GROWING PAINS ... hee hee)  and I definitely have NO idea what our doctors name were ... Can't remember anyone in my family spending time at the doctor when I was growing up either and yet I have 6 different specialist on my speed dial, have several nurses we see regularly as fb friends (who I ADORE !!!), I send my Vandy doctors 147 Christmas gear, and the VALET GUYS are my favorite people - they take good care of the MAMA MACHINE ... All this just confirms that GOD CAN DO AMAZING THINGS W/ ORDINARY MESSY PEOPLE !!! I was conditioned or prepared for NONE of this, BUT I AM WILLING AND ABLE to do it ALL !!!

This morning I received a picture from a sweet friend serving in Uganda ... I am so thankful for the people that I have met there and for the lives they have CHOSEN !!! They encourage me simply by being there ... They give and give and I know most of their stories and THEY TOO WERE NOT CONDITIONED OR PREPARED for the mission GOD HAS THEM ON, BUT ARE WILLING AND ABLE to do it ...

I am not sure if this picture will mean anything to you, but it put the WIND BACK IN MY SAIL today !!!

This is the clothes line of our friend Mandi Joy and Rachel in UGANDA full of 147 Million Orphans gear ... simply PRICELESS   !!!

this picture always make me smile ... Serving w/ Jeremiah in Uganda and having him there to bring Joseph and Daisy home is a priceless moment in my life !!!

HOPE SOMEONE PUTS THE WIND BACK IN YOUR SAIL TODAY IF IT IS A LITTLE DEFLATED ... blessings !!!

So thankful the Lord knows how to put the wind back in our sails. :) Happy Belated Birthday - we share the same b'day. Here is some fun bday trivia that was shared with me yesterday. "According to a public record births database, birthdays in the United States are quite evenly distributed for the most part. However, there tend to be more births in September and October. This may be because there is a holiday season nine months before, or from the fact that the longest nights of the year happen in the Northern Hemisphere nine months before as well.[8] October 5 is considered to be the most common birthday in the United States, while May 22 is considered to be the least common birthday in the United States.[9]"

I read this post a few days ago, but I am just now getting around to leaving a comment. I hear you on so many levels! When I was on hospital bed rest with our little one, I was told that as soon as got to a certain date, she would be FINE and totally NORMAL. And so that is what I expected. Except she wasn't fine. She had some medical issues and three years and thousands of appointments and therapy days later, we still don't have the answers. For a while, she was in four different therapies, four times a week. I don't know how I even made it to where we are now sometimes. On Monday, I walked into her physical therapy appointment ready to quit. I was just so tired mentally and emotionally. But I didn't. I realized that God made me her mama for a reason - because He knew that I would do whatever she needed no matter what. You're doing a GREAT job!

It is funny how big Vandy is but the people are so personal...They know you by name and love your kids as much as you do.
