JUST AN UPDATE ...

Thought instead of giving you a big ole sermon today full of my feelings that I would just update you on the TEAM ...

Jeremiah (#2) won the championship 5th grade football bowl yesterday and he was amazing ... touchdowns, tackles, amazing 35 yard pass, and super fun game  ... I love watching Jeremiah play because I see how fully God has gifted him in sports ... Will continue to teach him the 3H's ... Hungry, Holy, and Humble !!

Elijah is a little under the weather right now ... He is doing amazing in first grade and his teacher says he raises his hand for every question she asks (he gets that from me ... always ready to talk !!! ) ... He has been asking lots of questions about the Lord lately and it is fun to see him grow in his walk ...

Emily is also under weather  (2 out 6 kids not to bad I guess) ... She is growing up before my very eyes ... One minute she is acting like a 13 year old and the next she needs me to hold her ... Her hair is getting curlier by the day and it just puzzles people since of course she is Chinese ... I love doing laundry with her and just talking and dreaming of her future ...

Maggie is scheduled to have surgery December 16th ... We are trying a new procedure this time and I would appreciate your prayers ... Her verbal skills are increasing daily and she is becoming more outgoing each week ... She loves to write her name and my name on paper ... She is extremely bright and reminds me each day how amazing our God is ...

Joseph is the biggest helper at Amani (Uganda) ... The volunteers tell me he helps them to everything ... His laugh is infectious and he can say his numbers 1-5 very clearly ... He prefers to sign and I have ordered 3 books so we can all work on that to better communicate with him ... He will also need surgery when he gets home on his adenoids and then to be fitted with hear aids ...

Daisy went to church today with Curry (the volunteer I mention that is our friend who is there) ... Curry says Daisy is warming up to her and getting more comfortable leaving the orphanage compound ... She seems like such a little toot and I just know she will love playing with her sisters when she gets home ...

Scott and I are preparing for our two new treasures ... Closets are set, beds are ready, and we are so in love with them ... Scott just finished football season and is getting ready for basketball season ... He is loving FRA (teaching spiritual life classes and P.E.) ... He is a gifted teacher and encourager ... I am so proud of him and how he leads our family ... There are days I look at all I ask of him as the provider, leader, and protector of our family and just think THANK YOU LORD for making someone so perfectly fit for me ...  We will be celebrating our 19th anniversary this December  ... Wow, what a journey we have been on ...

Have a blessed week all and keeping checking blog in case I get the CALL from Uganda ... or perhaps you just may hear me scream from here !!!

I always enjoy your updates and pictures. Sounds like a busy and full schedule right now. I am eagerly hoping that you get that phone call. Each week, I keep thinking this must be THE week. I can sympathize with you on sickness right now. Josie is struggling with pneumonia. We went through this last fall. Despite her nasty lungs, she's a trooper and excited to help us decorate for Halloween. Hugs!!

Love hearing about each of your treasures and how God is showing up in each of their lives.

Just love your servant's heart! As my daughter asked who the two children were from Africa on your blog, she says, "Maybe we can adopt from Africa, too!" Thank you for your testimony and witness to HIS calling on your life!
