When The Men Are Away ... !!!! .... ?????

(Maggie is already asleep so she is absent from the picture ... Please pray she stays ASLEEP ...CANCEL THAT SHE JUST WOKE UP AT 10:49  ... HEE HEE ..JUST MY LIFE)

OK, so what would normal women do when their hubby's are away ??? girl's night out ??? pedicures ??? massages ??? dinner and a chick flick ???  shopping ??? hang out at Starbucks ??
NOPE ... Not us ... We got up, met up at the YMCA (ran while we solved the world's orphan crisis), came back to my house to swim with 12 kids, fed 12 kids, sunscreened 12 kids, and keep them all safe (for the most part), taught one how to swim, sat around the pool while we again talked about how to raise money for adoptions and Amazima, laughed ALOT, and then just decided what the HAY let's just make this whole thing a big old slumber party and have a spend the night ... So we fed 12 kids dinner, they played, we picked up 12 wet bathing suits and towels, had art table time (not my favorite ... remember I don't do CRAFTS) and then thought since the day had been such a huge success we would have ICE CREAM ... after cleaning up lots of  messy ice cream,  then we got 10 ready for bed (two went home because they were just hanging for the day) and put in a movie for the kids ... Suzanne and I finally sat down at 9:00 pm from a long day of blessings, fun, and friendship exhausted on the couch to watch BrideWars w/ Grace and Mallory ...

This may seem crazy to many, but this is how we choose to do our life ... We love hanging out and supporting each other .... We love how God has placed our children in each others lives in a special way and we pray that God uses them in each other's lives to help hold each other accountable, to be someone they can lean on and share the good and the bad, a friend who will always give Godly advice, and a friend to always laugh with ... Our kids love the orphans of the world and they see them as real ... They remind us daily of how to LOVE BETTER ....
BY THE WAY ... Our Hubby's and our eldest sons are in Memphis at a basketball tournament making memories of their own ... Jeremiah and Michael, we pray God knits you together in a way that keeps you like brothers !!!!  Also, Suzanne and I are beyond thankful for our godly husbands, who love how CRAZY we are !!!!

I absolutly loved that post. Do you realize how many women out there crave to have a godly girlfriend to have. To share all the things that you all shared today. I think thats so great! I think every good woman should have that kind of relationship at some point in their life, and hopefully blessed to have one her whole life. I cant think of a better way to spend an evening. Especially the laughing til you pee yourself.(oh I guess you didnt say that, did you?) hee, hee. I have done that, and it just happens to be the best kind of laugh. smiles.

You are truly BLESSED to have a girlfriend like that to hang out with. I have several long distance girlfriends that I do yearly mom/kid slumber parties with ... but no one close by. I've had a lonely year this year, and pray for friendships such as this.

blessings,

mama of 13

Hey, I don't know if you'll ever see this message, but I can't get your email address to work. Have you anything else about lunch with Katie? Lindsay will only be here for lunch on Sunday. Is there any way to squeeze it in?

Did you get the stroller?

Hugs and kisses!
