The Climb ...

Perhaps it is because my children are so young and I am forced to watch Disney, but I love Miley Cyrus's new song THE CLIMB ... It speaks to my spirit about our time here on earth ... We are always in a CLIMB of some sort ... Although I don't really like the part where "it says it doesn't really matter what is on the otherside", BECAUSE ALL THAT MATTERS IS WHAT IS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE CLIMB ... Personally the song just really challenges me to CLIMB well no matter what. Even though I would really like to move a few mountains "here and there" on my journey, that it is perhaps all the CLIMBING that strengthens my faith, makes me long to be with the Father more, shows those around me some light for the kingdom, and allows my children to see me walk close to the Father ... Now my faith is in a Savior that if He chooses, He could move a few mountains for each of us ... like restoring Abe fully, healing Cade's eye, putting hair on Maggie's head, giving Joseph his hearing back, allowing Josie to walk, feed all of the children Katie serves in Uganda with just a spoken word and restoring so many broken hearts, but I will tell you in the midst of all the CLIMBS Scott and I have grown so dependent on Christ, we are falling deeply in love with Him more and more each day, and hopefully we have set our children on a path of service, prayer, and obedience to God ... I know I have seen the Alexander's humble themselves and glorify the Lord each day with a passion that only comes from someone who has seen HIM in their child, I have watched Chris/Carlee become such prayer warriors and people of strength through all of Cade's surgeries, I know Maggie has changed our family and shown us truly how to love, I feel Joseph in my heart is a little guy that will put smiles into everyone's heart for the Lord, and I know the Mayernick family will show many blind obedience as they bring little Josie home from Uganda, and watching, walking, and welcoming all the Lord has to teach me through Katie and all she sees will most definitely change us all !!!! SO LET US CONTINUE THE CLIMB FRIENDS AND SHOW OTHERS THE WONDERS OF CHRIST ...

Close your eyes and listen to this song and picture yourself climbing whatever mountain you are currently on with the Lord holding your hand, walking before you, and standing on the otherside ...

Gwen...love this song! I had never heard it until Shao played it for me. She had chosen it to dance ballet to, for a solo performance at Yale University. What a great song...and yes, the other side IS the most important...but you are right, so is our journey TO it! :)

Hugs...Nancy in CT

Thank you Lord Jesus that you have called us to this climb, that you have gone before and set in place all that we will need for the journey. Thank you for sustaining us when it gets hard and giving us the grace and means to climb higher. Oh, how grateful I am that you have given us families like the Oatsvalls and Mayernicks to climb with us. I am humbled by your incredible love for us and placing these special angels in our care- not so that we can save them, but so they could be a part of your saving each of us from lives of utter complacency and lukewarmness. May we each be good stewards of your rich blessings. May we continually give you all the glory and honor due your holy name!

It's so funny that you posted this today! Yesterday I heard "The Climb" on my daughters radio... we had gone to see the movie so I recognized the song and stopped to listen to the words again... I, too, didn't like that one line but loved the rest of the song! I ended up running by the store to buy the cd... for my girls ;)

Climbing and praying with you!!

What an incredible post. I will go and check out the link you posted.

"God you are so good. Thank you for women like Gwen who You have chosen to bless with abundance of love, grace, mercy, strength and children. Thank you Father for providing everything they need. Give strength for all the work that still needs to be done to bring her children home. Continue to heal those whom she has mentioned in her post. God, continue to heal Maggie. Work in their lives in miraculous ways. Father you are the life giver and we Praise your Holy name. God, may we continue to climb each mountain that you have put before us. Lead each one of us that you have called to be Your children, doing Your work for eternity. May we give you all the glory..for ever and ever Amen!"

Thank you, Gwen, for sharing Josie-Tatum's blog with your followers. She is brining adults to tears over and over again. Adults who work with kindergarten graduation in our school have come to me to tell me she has made them cry when asked in front of the microphone, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" And she says, "I want to go all around the world helping orphans."
The LORD will be holding her hand on the climb. And, so many in the family of God will help guide her way.
I'm so glad He gave us the Body of Christ.
Blessings,
Robbie

WooHooooo!!!! So happy to see Joseph's sweet face! I am thrilled for you and Scott and also for this boy that God has chosen to be yours.

Also, it's nice to know I'm not the only one taking ANY opportunity to latch a Christian message onto a pop song...makes a great minivan sermon :) Love you!
