KNOCK, KNOCK

What if you got a knock on the door and there was a child standing there who was hungry, thirsty, and needed a mom and dad ???

This thought has been coming to my mind ever since Katie went back to Uganda and began enrolling more and more kids in the Amazima program ... Suzanne and I were like we have to stop taking kids in until we can get people to sponsor them and Katie said to us, "How do you tell a child NO, who is hungry and standing at your door." ... We cried and said of course we would say YES ... Katie's faith walk inspires me to think out of my box here in the states; it helps me to be bold in my life here and encourages me to blindly follow Christ in the road He has laid out before us ...

I honestly wish children would knock on our doors, homeless people would stop by for a bite to eat, we all had a prison inmate to pray for or a widow would call and say she needs help ... I truly have to believe we would all be saying YES a lot more ... YES, YES, YES, AND YES

Here are some God hightlights from the past weekend ... Crazy Love study w/a group of women WHO GET IT, Amazima Board Meeting, Sweet Sweet 13 year old girls had their birthday party and ask for donations for our adoption and not gifts (they raised $900.00 ... more to come on this), I spoke to about 100 amazing people at LifePoint church on Sunday and they engulfed me with blessings and I saw many hearts opening and saying YES, and we received some news on the sweet little boy at Amani that is bringing us closer to a decision ...

God is seriously calling us OUT INTO THE OPEN and I can't wait to see what He has in store !! Lord, I pray for protection from Satan for my family ...

Love You All ...

You inspire me. Maybe we'll meet someday soon. ;) I can't wait to see what God has planned for your family. He's got BIG plans for sure! Praying that satan would be bound, clarity would be given in regards to your sweet boy and that these children in Uganda will be sponsored. I'm going to email you on that.....have a question.

Gwen, I'm praying for you and yours! And the little man in Uganda. NOW I know why you weren't posting! WHEW! I am tired, just reading...well, that and it IS late! :)

I have often wished there were a way to put a huge neon sign over my home, saying "Place all unwanted babies HERE"...oh, wouldn't that be heavenly? :)

Love...Nancy in CT (Shao's Mama)

You're doing a Crazy Love group study? wow!

We just discovered that book this week and have already bought 5 more books to give away. My 24 year old son is devouring the book and the online messages that go along with it. He can't get enough of it! Woo hoo!

Hugs!

What a week. May God's blessings pour out on you.

Many of us are searching for ways to say "yes".

I totally agree. I keep asking God to show me where he wants me to be and sometimes I am surprised that it's just feeding a homeless person or spending time with someone who plans to adopt. He doesn't expect me to move mountains, just be his hands and feet.

I so agree with you Gwen....give give and give some more...even when it hurts and tired...because it's what God wants us to do and it's a good hurt and good tired...Our bible study group has been challeged by our teacher...she has moved from the head of the table, and now sits along side of us...and it is us she wants to challenge..we must take the lead...in class and in our lives...to get out there and just do it!! :)

I've never met you but I came across your blog through some friends at LifePoint. Your blog is so inspirational. I have always had a heart for orphans so it's neat to see what you're doing. My husband and I are sponsoring a child through Compassion and we want to add one to our family every 3 months. Crazy, I know, but we want to do something. We are putting our "yes" on the table too...

Loved your post. Wow the money raised, that is awesome.Praise God. We are also praying for protection from evil because when we are out there doing God work...satan is also at work. And so we pray that the Lord will protect your family from evil and that he will have no holds on the work that you are doing and the children you are bringing home.

Blessings

Kati is such an inspiration! And, yes, if a child knocked on my door, we would find a bed. That's almost how we were blessed with Brandon, and, now only 1 1/2 years later, he is going off to college. I truly hope Jesus sends me another Brandon.....
