Can't I Just Keep Her ???

(Me, Ally Kat, Katie, and Kelly)

I am constantly being asked the question, "Can't I just keep Ally?" ... Well technically NO, but the heart answer to the question is much deeper ...

As I pray over Ally and looked into her eyes I know someone is desperately waiting for her ... I think of it like this, what if someone had walked into the room where Emily or Maggie was before me and decided they wanted them just because they saw them first ... We have all done the WAITING !!! ... There is a family that has been desperately praying, desperately preparing, desperately loving, desperately hoping, and desperately waiting for a call about their child just like I did for Emily and Maggie and I do for Abigail and Joseph ... Ally Kat has a family and someday soon they will be together ... Yes, I am totally in love w/ this child and have had the privilege for almost 3 weeks to love on her, pray for her, and speak words of comfort into her sweet little ear and I do all that so that the day I hand her over to her forever mommy there will be a sense of peace and blessings ...

This is just another view of the journey of adoption and I am thankful God
allowed me to see it!

Side Note: Picture above is from a brunch I had w/ some fabulous moms where Katie shared her story ... We are praying God sends her the people needed to support all the precious kids in Uganda for the following year ... Any amount will help ... It takes $300 to send a child to school for a year, medical visits, and 2 meals a day ... These children don't have parents ... They need our help to have a chance ... Believe me I understand money is tight, but Scott and I are going to sponsor a child ... As always we feel God will fund what He favors !!!! Click on her name above to find out how to donate ... Blessings to you my cyber FAMILY ...

You are exactly where God wants you to be, Gwen. He put Miss Ally Kat in the exact home she needs to be in right now. Her parents will be so glad to know she has been loved on this whole time while they are apart from her. Keep on keeping on, my sweet friend.
I know you have received The Smile Award but I HAD to pass it on to you again from me because you truly make me smile. Jesus just radiates when I log on to Oatsvall Team. Love you, Adele

Hi Gwen,
I was thinking about you being this sweet child's foster Momma...

Since our Anna girl couldn't be with us or our families the first year and 8 days of her life, I sure wish that she would have had you as her foster Momma. What a difference it makes in a child to be loved on the way you are Allie Kate! You are the hands and feet of Jesus to this sweet baby girl and what a wonderful difference it will make in her life.

We're sponsoring a child and couldn't be more excited about it...We need to pick a date to go to the fundraising dinner together...Which one are you attending??kj

You are so inspiring! I know it is going to be hard to let her go but her have done so right by that child just by loving her and praying for her and preparing her for her Mommy and Daddy!!!

It only takes $2000 to build a church in Uganda and for a year now the youth at our church have been giving their change or whatever they have in their pockets on wednesday nights and we only need about $800 more. God is great!!!

Love and blessings, Kristy

You are sowing beautiful seeds of eternal value into sweet Ally's heart! Her family will be doubly blessed! Praying she's becoming more content and for precious Katie and kids! :)

Oh goodness. I'm sure your heart is being tugged in so many ways. But what a beautiful (but difficult) role you are playing in this whole process. Shows me that there are so many layers to the journey and so many people needed to fulfil each role. Thanks for reminding us of that.

If I was Ally's momma, I would be blessed to know that someone loved her and prayed for her as much as you did before she came home! Terry

I haven't been on in awhile! I didn't know you were doing interim care! I would LOVE to do that! I have talked with Jamie about it many times. I'm not sure if Kent is up for it. I would love to talk to you about it sometime. I may call you soon! Love you!

If that offer for you and Scott to do anything for me still stands....could you guys please pray like you've never prayed before for me and my family? My dad told his nurse this evening (with my brother in the room) that he's afraid of not waking up, just like my mom didn't; not sure if he fully comprehends what happened to my mom (he knows she's gone and not coming back, but he's not able to grieve like my siblings and I are now), but my sister said that he might be grieving in his own way, and just not able to express it; but that's even iffy, at best; PLEASE, PLEASE pray that we don't have to do this again - it's only been six weeks since Mom's passed

I love what you're able to do for Ally Kat. I know for a fact that even little infants hold on to events that happen in their lives at such young ages. What you're doing for her right now will impact the rest of her life.

Oh, Gwen, what a beautiful heart you have for children--to love Ally as God has allowed you to be part of her life, and to know that another mom is praying for her to enter her life.
Blessings,

Found your blog through Kristi J. We are in the process of adopting from Ethiopia. We, too, take in newborns that are being placed for adoption. I loved your answer, because we have had to answer the same questions.

As one of those moms who waited for a birthmother to choose us as her baby's family, I am grateful for Peter's foster mother loving on him and praying for him for the one night she had him before we made it to the agency.

God has her family all picked out, I'm sure.
