2 Mothers Gone Home To Be With The King ...

I don't even know how to start this post ... Yesterday two women I knew went home to be w/ the Father ... One battling cancer for a long time leaving behind a sweet son and loving husband and the other so sudden leaving behind a senior in high school (I had the privilege of coaching), one daughter preparing for a wedding in December, son away at college and loving husband ...

They were strong women of faith leaving behind a strong legacy ... I was not in their life on a daily basis, but my heart ached all day yesterday for the sweet children and spouses left behind ...

As a mother we have such impact on our family ... It is an honor to guide our children and support our husbands in a godly manner ... I feel amazed at how the Father created our hearts to endure much, our bodies to withstand fatigue, our arms to carry heavy loads, and our mouths to soothe the soul ...

To all the mothers out there .... You are a true gift to your family ... Try not to let the trenches of life make you feel unappreciated or alone ... You were created to be a shining light in this world ...

P.S. I am sorry I haven't visited many of you lately, but Ally Kat requires much holding w/ her fussiness ... And then Maggie is begging for some attention when I put her down ... AGAIN WHAT AN HONOR TO BE A MOTHER ... Will check in on all you soon ...

28 kind words.:

Such sad news for those who remain behind, but happiness in Heaven today!

My prayers will be with these families. Losing a parent is so hard.

I just found your blog through the Wheelers. Lindsey and I have been friends for a long time...
I love your heart for adoption and your family is beautiful. My husband and I are awaiting the time for our adoptive children to be added.
I love your words about mothers, as sometimes we get so lost in the mundane. But every second is truly a gift...a reminder I was in need of.

Hi Gwen. I can relate to your friends as I lost my dad to cancer when I was 8 and my mother to cancer in 2004, just one week before my dear Caroline was born. She would have loved her little left-handed firecracker of a grandaughter (her only grandaughter and only lefty-my mom was a proud southpaw).

I talked with Rick last night about being interim foster parents last night and he is all for it. We will probably start the paperwork after the first of the year since we have a Japanese intern staying with us right now.

Someone needs to pray for these babies until they have their forever families and I can think of no better place to pray for them than in my arms.

Praying for you during this time of loss and exhaustion.

Lord, please bless Gwen as she ministers to these families, to Ally Kat and to her own family. Don't let her get lost in the process. Give her strength, stamina and grace to deal with all the pressures facing her right now. Bless her beyond measure. In JESUS name, Amen.

How amazing that you are able to experience being the 'Mom in the Middle' which is such a vital role in a child's journey.
