The Last 24 Hours ...

OK, so what does Hanna Montana, the book THE LORAX by Dr. Seuss , and the movie Dreamer (bout a horse) all have in common ???

THEY ALL MAKE ME THINK OF THE ORPHANS OF THE WORLD ... You ask how ???

1. Sitting w/ kids on couch watching the episode where Miley looses her voice for the 100th time and she goes into a dream where her mother encourages her, tells her how special will be just as Miley, etc ... I start crying thinking of the 145 million orphans, who don't have a mother to tell them how special they are and give them hugs that let them know they are in a safe place ...

2. Reading THE LORAX to the girls today ... I start tearing up at the premise of the book which is about a ONCE-LER, who was taking, taking, taking, and giving nothing back and destroyed his entire area (this can be me at times ) ...

3. Running on treadmill at the YMCA watching the movie about the broken horse, who just wanted a chance to WIN ... A few tears fall because I think of all the children who just want a chance to win at life ... JUST A CHANCE ....

I totally know I am preaching to the choir here, but like so many of you my thoughts each day go to the orphans of the world and how in need they are for us to pray, act, advocate, care and do our part ... I have no doubt that God has each one of these children in His hand ... I know He is there w/ them in the trenches, but I also know it is good to be burdened of the things that are close to God's heart ... So I don't mind carrying this with me each day ...

I love how we all partner together to make a difference ... Kimberly and her many projects w/Starfish, Jamie raising money for water to help out Haiti in their time of need, Emily asking people to donate money for her birthday to a project that will get water to those desperate in Ethiopia, Verna designing blogs to help people raise money for their adoptions, buying clothing from those who sew and sew and sew to raise money to bring their children home, and all the support for my book project to help bring my son and daughter home !!!! There are many others out there and I applaud our efforts and concern ... We must keep these precious children in the forefront of our thoughts, prayers, and life ....

Blessings my sweet, sweet friends !!!

Oh, new post! I must come back to read, as I'm rushing out the door to get Leila to soccer.

Please stop by. I left you a little something... :-)

Amen, Gwen. I can't get through a day without thinking of that number: 145 million. My husband and I are still trying to figure out what we can do to make a difference to turn that number into more children that are united with their families. I believe that your book will do great things.

And by the way, don't worry about having to pass the award on. I know exactly what you mean. You're off the hook... unless you want to, of course.

No words on this one, Gwen. Just that dull ache that never goes away for the orphan....I sometimes like to think that with as much as I ache and hold the world's orphans in my heart that maybe it relieves a bit of their suffering and loneliness until they are wrapped into a loving family....

you are breaking my heart......
Thank you for being a faithful voice for those who are not able to cry out for themselves...
Thank you for being a messenger of the Father's love for His hurting and broken children....
Thank you for a heart that is pure and so filled with love for the orphaned that you have been chosen to be an advocate for them.... through prayer, through sharing their pain....
God bless you my friend.... and oh, Lord... please, please, please, bless the children....
God's Speed little ones.... God's speed...

Although the orphans of the world are EXTREMELY IMPORTANT as well (and gosh, how I wish I could take one home), but just for today, can we also remember the ones that were either left orphaned, or only have one parent left, from what happened seven years ago today?

So wonderful we have a community of sisters sharing the same burden for His orphans all over the world! I feel like Christian in The Pilgrim's Progress with the big old burden carrying around on my back....always reminded of it--- and knowing it's not ours alone to carry is such comfort! Thank you so much for always keeping it out in front! :)

We have friends who just returned from China today with their precious daughter and other friends who just left today to go get their little one. I am so joyful for them and their little ones who will now have a family. So many children remain out there, I share your concerns and heart for all of them! Adoption changes us in so many ways for the good!

Hey Gwen, just got your message on my blog.....thank you very much. All I need from people is prayer; prayer that we get through this, prayer knowing why she went when she did; prayer for my nieces (and nephew) who just lost their other grandmother just 11 short months ago, almost to the day (my nieces lost their gramma, not my nephew)

Gwen this post was so good and I have to give credit where credit is due. You are an AMAZING woman , and I am not just saying that. So many things you have said have inspired me, helped me thru a situation, got me thru the week, or just reminded myself of how incredibly blessed I am. You are a treasure and a gift from above in my life and I sincerely thank you for that.

Love and blessings, Kristy

When you have time go read about my big news, I am so excited and really want to share it with you.
