GOTCHA DAY YEAR 3 ... THANK YOU LORD

How do I ever express my feelings for the woman who gave birth to my precious Emily. How do I say that I think of you often when her face smiles, her lips pucker, or she brushes her hair from her eyes. We have never met and probably will never meet, but I love you. I pray for you. I want you to know that your precious child that was laid on the doors steps of a governmental building is treasured. She is adored by her brothers and sister, loved by her mom and dad, and cherished by so many others. Emily brings light to my day and gives me the strength to see the good in everything. Her saucy attitude and outgoing personality are from me and her mesmerizing eyes and fearless nature I am sure come from you. I promise to always pray for you and to tell Emily one day the love I know you have for her. I can’t even imagine my life w/out this fabulous creature … She took my heart to a whole new level and allowed me the courage to change my life. Emily is already a missionary because when she looks into someone’s eyes they have to see God in her.

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for choosing life when I know you could have chosen not to give birth …. I admire you for the strength I see in my child … I promise you that she will never be lonely and she will always feel loved. She will have us to cheer for her when life brings the good and the bad. I hope wherever you are that you have peace in your life and that some how God’s love has made it ways into your heart so that one day in heaven Emily and I may see you …

Happy Gotcha Day my precious precious daughter… You will forever be the one that brought the LIGHT to my life …

Three years - wow!!
Book/Radio that is so exciting!!
I was so excited when I saw them Monday night in childcare at church. Gave them both big kisses and they acted like they really knew who I was. Emily was so cute being the big protector of Maggie.

No words to adequately explain how great I think our God is and Emily is just an example of that love. We do nothing to deserve His grace or these kiddos that He blesses our life with, but He does and I am in awe.

Enjoy today!

Funny story...I was in Real Estate school all weekend, my teacher was Polish, and every time anyone said, "Gotcha." He would tell us how gotcha is Polish for underwear. I thought of you:)

Awe look at your sweet pumpkin. It's amazing that three years have come and gone. I remember hearing about Emily from Chrissie and that you were adopting her from China. What a beautiful Princess she is and so blessed to be in a forever family.

I ran into a lady at church who is adopting a baby girl from China through Bethany.

Gwen, I've been having something on my heart that I've been wanting to tell you for a very long time (since first learning about Crystal and Shane adopting another child), but have been "uneasy" about sharing this until now...

Reading yours and Crystal's journies to your children has COMPLETELY changed my life forever. I"m finding myself to be kinder to people (not that I wasn't before) and having much more of a compassionate heart for children. But MOST IMPORTANTLY, I have a much better relationship with God; and I'm learning that the materialistic things in life are JUST NOT IMPORTANT anymore; so thank you very much for changing my life for the better.

Happy first time Emily was in her Mama's arms day....
What a beautiful post Gwen.... it mirrored my heart for Hannah's birth mother....
We are so blessed..... I pray our children's birthmothers know Jesus and are filled with His peace.
Enjoy your oh, so precious day.

Very beautiful. I love to talk to Hannah about her China mommy. I have tried to teach her to also pray for her China parents. I too cannot image my life without her.
