FASHION HAIR DAY ...

Breakfast, Embroidery Factory, MacDonald's for our 1st fry and ice cream cone, shopping for oil for Maggie's skin and back to room for her 1st meltdown ... She cried uncontrollably for about 45 minutes ( I remember when Emily had hers in Changsha also) ... It is amazing how God wires children... She was testing me to see if I really do love her before she gives her heart away ... I just rocked her and told her I loved her and she calmed down ...

We are also working on hair dos ... Feel free to vote (Gretchen .. thanks for noticing the comb over in the last picture ...lol) ... I think I like the side pony ....

We are playing soccer in the room right now ... Hoping good sleep for all tonight .. I am not sleeping well !!!!

love you all !!!

Gwen,
We're loving the Jim Chapman doo-rag! :) Emma Kate keeps asking to see pictures of "Maggie and the ferocious beast" (if you've seen that children's show).
We can't wait to see you next Sunday at the airport!
Love you,
Kimber

Gwen, I don't know if you'd remember me or not from Asian Invasion, but Kimber, told me about the site, and I've read the entire thing from beginning to end! Amazing journey you're on! Little Maggie is just as absolutely precious as she can be. I am in love!!!! I vote on the cap! And I dooooooo love the kerchief from earlier in the week. Although she looks mighty cool in the do rag and layers there at Mickey D's.

What's the plan on hair at home? Are you serious about a wig? How does locks of love work? How many inches do they need off of how many girl's heads? Wonder if we couldn't do a group cutting?? Could be quite an adventure!

Found your blog from Emily's. We were traveling to China around this time last year to get our sweet baby girl. So emotional to see you with Maggie! She is adorable. I will be praying for your travel home and continued attachment. Sounds like things are going great! Thanks for letting us share your journey.

Gwen, I have given up mascara this week as I am a mess after reading your blogs and watching Maggie bloom before our eyes! We will pray for your sleep as that was my problem when we were in China. I would fall asleep for a few hours then wake up for the rest of the night...even after sleeping pill! I feel your pain and will pray, pray, pray for sleep for you!!

I'm praying for her to continue to accept what is happening and to realize just how much she is loved!!

I wondered when you would start in with the fancy hair do's - I always remember Emily's fancy "do's" in China - the gel - the whole bit!!! You are such a sweet Mommy - she will feel that love and I am just praising God for the wisdom He keeps giving you!! Hey girl - didn't they ALL have meltdowns in Changsha?!?! I'm thinking Chloe had about 10!!!!

I cannot believe the change in her. Look at the joy in her face. I just love you Gwen. When I pulled up that picture with her side pony, my heart smiled down to its core. You are pure magic. Maggie's Momma. Hang in there! I got an e-mail from a friend of yours wondering if she could still send a shower gift and what she should send. Is there still anything you need?

Kathi said...

I'm getting kind of concerned that we haven't heard from her since Friday. I'm sure she's swamped with the paperwork, etc.; so I'm not panicing yet; just worried.
