News From SW Today ....

Well, friends it has been a day of crying and lots of emotions. I asked my SW to check in with our file just to see how the progress was and she let me know that we really won't be able to check on it for another month. She wants me to be prepared to wait the entire 5 months for my LOI (letter of intent) to arrive and then approximately another 8 weeks before travel. Just so you don't have to do the math in your head that is February. Right now that just seems like an impossible wait, but I know the Father will be holding us and Maggie in His arms. Because it was He who was there when she was burned and it was He who was there when she was left on the door steps.

Lord give me strength !!!! And now time for my soap box ... For all those out there that think adoption is a Fad right now (per the Ladies on The View), I would invite them to come and camp out in my heart for awhile .... To all the adoptive families out there waiting to bring children home matched or unmatched ... You are strong, compassionate people who are right now acting as the "Hands and Feet" of Jesus. I love you all ....

P.S. Praise for my friend Pam, who will be receiving their LOI tomorrow ... They have had a long journey ...

15 kind words.:

I hope it comes sooner -- our wait was 8 months, and it's a SN adoption as well. Our last SN adoption was 9 months. So, in the scheme of things, it sounds about right -- but I think (pray) they will expedite, for Maggie. She's been through sooo much more than most! Sending hugs your way.

Will be praying for your trip to be sooner, and for God to make the time seem to fly by. Love you girl. :-)

Gwen,
I am so tired of delays and hardship. I will pray for Maggie to come soon. I am so sorry that every step of this road has to be so hard.

Gwen, I am sorry to hear this. I want to tell you something that was told to me on Saturday. We have a young man at church that was just released from prison for something he did before he got his life right with God. There was a group of people praying for him at church. One of the ladies was asking me about our adoption. I told her what had happen. She shared how they prayed that his paperwork would be moved to the top of the stack. She said that was what we needed to pray. I will pray that your paperwork will be moved to the top. in Jesus name.

Makes me sad to read this as I know you long to hold precious Maggie. Great opportunity to trust in Him!!
Don't go buy the book- that's all I can say.....:)
Bummer, next weekend is Vandy homecoming so we are pushing it back to early November. Wish it were tomorrow so I could hug your neck and pray for our kiddos.

As someone who's been through military deployments (6 mos the longest) with my husband...it was very hard waiting for him to come home to our family....But waiting for your baby to come home...knowing she's not with you..that has to be the hardest wait I can ever imagine..If I was hurting..It doesn't even compare to what you are going through...I do feel for all those who adopt!!!

Oh, Gwen..... Each time I check in I am hoping to see you are on your way to your sweet Maggie.... I had no idea the wait is so long. I know the Lord has a plan and His timing is perfect... it's just so difficult to understand why it must take sooooooooooooo long for them to allow Maggie to be with her family. It just seems senceless and it breaks my heart. I will continue to pray for you all and ask God for another miracle to bring Maggie home soon.
