DOING LIFE ...

Thanks to Verna I am now connected to a yahoo group from Maggie's orphanage. Verna is always looking out for me. The above is a picture of her orphanage. She is in a very poor area and we will more than likely not visit the orphanage. It is over 8 hours away from Changsha.

Other News:
1. Elijah lost another tooth. He is banking his money for a big toy.

2. We had a cook out at a half way house for Restore Ministries. We pulled up and one of Scott's childhood friends was there. God is so big. Scott shared his testimony, we cooked out and of course Emily had everyone eating out of the palm of her hand.

3. Renovation of the house is almost done. We have enclosed our screened in front porch as livable house space now. I think Scott is getting ready for all the children God will bring into our home.

4. I got a new picture of Maggie's head burn and I think it looks great. I feel so blessed that God is caring for her till I get there.

5. I am super excited about Wed. ... Jeremiah and I are going out on a date for the day. I adore my oldest son and love to hear what God is doing in his life. We try to do a date every 3 months or so to have some one on one time.

That is all for now. I am so excited about some of my new blogger friends.... You all keep me so encouraged and focused on the BIG PICTURE !!!

I think it is wonderful that you and your son have dates and spend one on one time together. Mal and Ron go on dates too and I love that he is teaching her how a lady should be treated. I am glad the cookout went well. I know the folks were blessed that you guys were there to minister to them. Also, Maggie has been on my heart alot lately and I have been constantly praying for her. I can hardly wait to follow your journey to get her! Love and prayers,
Adele

And I am so glad that you have this photo and more of Maggie. It sounds like your family is growing in the Lord and in life experiences.

That is so awesome that you have some connections with Maggie's orphanage...God is so amazing! We used to have date nights with our kids, too! You've just inspired me to carve time out of our chaotic schedules to do that again! It's such a special time...even my 14 year old still wants to "date" his mom! :)

I too found my daughter's yahoo orphanage group. It's very cool to talk with these people and some even let me look through trip photos from the recent past to see if my daughter isn't in the background. Nothing yet but another family is traveling there now and will try to get a shot of her for me.

That's great that you got updated pictures of Maggie! Those yahoo orphanage groups are great! Being able to share so much info and pictures amongst adoptive families. If you don't get to visit the orphanage , hopefully you will be able to get some pictures of it and of Maggies home city to keep for her.
