IT IS SIMPLE

We make it so grey in this world because it is hard not be clouded by all we see, hear, and do on a daily basis ... I sometimes see something and become completely shocked at how have we gotten this far off track ... How can we have marches and rallies, news shows, publications and other media dedicated to the cruelty of animals and not shine a light on the hurting, abandoned, and defenseless children both in the U.S. and around the world ... I am not saying we shouldn't protect animals, but when we elevate them above a human life there is something warped about our bible world view ... Are we just to afraid of what might happen if we start making people face the reality of how children are living in this world today ??? Are we afraid people might really take a stand and this could become an issue we refuse to ignore or move past ??? What are we afraid of ???

"The Lord God has told us what is right and what He demands: "See that justice is done, let mercy be your first concern; and humbly obey your God."  Micah 6:8

Do what is RIGHT and HUMBLY obey ... IT IS SIMPLE ... I am gonna try and fight through the fog of this world and humbly shine for the LORD ...

blessings friends !!!

Thank you for posting this, this is probably my NUMBER #1 pet-peeve! I want to throw up when I see that commericial with Sarah Mclachlan for ASPCA, not because like you said, that animal cruelty is not a problem, but that they are raising millions of dollars for animals while there are children straving to death....COME ON PEOPLE, get your priorities in order!!!! Sorry I had to vent ;) I hope one day we can meet face to face, Press on Sister! Love, Jill

I think I offended a co-worker yesterday when discussing this EXACT SAME THING. She said she wished more people would feel passionate and be willing to fight for animal rights. I said I feel the same thing about the children who are feeling unloved and unfed around the world.

I will say, I'm glad she has a cause. I just wish more people would allow themselves to notice the suffering children...

Blessings!

Gwen - I SO resonate with this!! I was just thinking about this on a run this morning...how can I/we get so off track. It IS so simple...every action, thought and decision should be focused on Glorifying God, serving the poor, the orphans, the forsaken. Thank you for sharing and calling others to accountability too!
blessings! carrie

Ok, on my google reader, it puts an ad at the bottom of posts, and the ad at the bottom of this post was for Baylor University Press. It said, "The Friends we Keep: Unleashing Christianity's Compassion for Animals. Can Christianity be food news for animals today?" And had a picture of animals in front of a church door. No joke!!! I didn't know if I should laugh or cry!

I had to get on here to see if it was an ad from my phone or if you had posted that...

First, please go read my latest blog post... it's about this very thing.

Second, YES, people are AFRAID to make others face the ugliness of their actions. No one wants anyone to be uncomfortable anymore and if people have to face the fact that some of their quest for comfort has forced death or imprisonment on others, then it's just too much to have to deal with.

I love your bright shining light and I didn't get enough of you yesterday. Let's talk again soon.

We are called to be good stewards of the earth. That includes taking care of animals, not polluting, and being as green as we can. It is a responsibility given to us by God. However, if by doing so we neglect the very ones Jesus Christ came to save, we make an idol out of the environment and miss the point completely.

I don't know how many times I have thought this very thing. Thank you for bring attention to it- I love animals, but should we really see, feel and hear more about animal cruelty than children that have no families, food, medicine or love?? Amen to your post.
