Here We Go Again ... Maggie is having surgery today !!!
A blast from the past ... This is picture of Maggie and I in China !!!
We have been home 2 years this past Thanksgiving and we are at the point where she is comfortable, happy, and at such peace ... I know that sounds like a long time, but today I can tell you it was worth every sleepless night, every tantrum, every screaming out of body experience, every slap to my face, every day stuck at home for fear of leaving the house, and for every hopeless moment ... IT WAS WORTH IT FOR MY DAUGHTER, WHO SITS HERE SNUGGLED W/ ME IN BED ...
blessings all ... My computer and camera are both sorta broken, so perhaps next week I will have pictures and a working computer ...

Praying for little Maggie today...
We will be praying as well. Thank you for sharing this post...it's the true and reality of adoption. We take the good, bad and ugly often...those precious children can come with baggage that we don't understand or even know how to parent some days. But God is bigger than it all...and praising Him that Maggie now feels truly home and has a "forever family".
Blessings to you and yours,
Connie
Praying Hard...

Gwen,
I am thinking of you and praying for everyone and everything involved today. I am so glad you were able to get in for surgery today but can only imagine the worries and emotions that come along with it.
I understand the two years--it sounds like a long time but it also took Owen two years before we felt like he was really attached and more peaceful.
May you be given peace today and may everything go very smoothly.
Praying for all of you,
Adrienne
praying right now for sweet little maggie and for your family and the doctors/nurses doing the surgery!
Phil. 4:7~ and the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus...
You know we have all been praying for every detail in Maggie's surgery. Praying you feel continued peace and know your army of prayer warriors will not stop praying! We love you!!!
Lisa and family
Oh, I remember that picture! It did and still does make me cry. She had been through so much and she was just beginning to trust. She knows, without a doubt, that her family will be there for her and will never leave her.
Praying for a successful surgery, speedy recovery, and no infection.
thanks for taking the time to post this, so that we could uphold y'all in prayer.
Praying today and the days ahead! Kristi
May our God who created the heavens touch Maggie with healing.

Ah, Gwen...I came on your blog to ASK when Maggie's surgery would be! God thing. Praying (although this is probably after the fact!) But I am sure sweet Maggie could use some pain relief and comfort, so I will continue to pray! Here's hoping this time is the charm! :)
Love ya! Hugs...Nancy in CT

I came over here to encourage you as you head into a surgery AGAIN with your daughter, but in fact, you encouraged ME! We brought home our baby girl in April from Ethiopia and she was a tiny infant, but she has sure given us a run for our money as far as patience, love, endurange, etc-she is a screamer/scratcher/hitter/agressivedemanding/takes-strong-willed-to-a-whole-new-level kind of kiddo and there are days when it is ok and I walk along prepared to handle what comes, and days when i can do nothing but cry and wonder if it will EVER get better and what the heck did we do?? THANK YOU for telling that it is worth it, and she WILL understand the boundaries of family and that we love her no matter what, so she doesn't need to test those boundaries ALL THE TIME :) but really, it is shocking how much damage can be done to the heart of even a tiny baby by not having a family to meet their needs for consistent love and nurture--WE NEED TO GET THESE KIDS INTO THEIR FAMILIES AS SOON AS WE CAN!!! Thank you again for ALL that you do to so passionately advocate for the orphan. ANd hang in there with this surgery stuff-not at all fun for the mommy or Maggie, but God is good and with you EVERY step of the way, and He loves you and Maggie more than we can comprehend!!!!
