What Is In A Name ... Lesson #2

I joke all the time that if I had a dime for every time one of my kids said my name, then I would be one rich mama ... Over the last couple of days, I have listened a little more to those sweet little voices and have been given a peek into God's newest lesson for me in my REST and PREPARE time ... Early in the mornings when my boys say "Good bye Mom," or Emily says "Mama" followed by a question or Maggie says "Tanks Mom" or Elijah barges in the door after school "Mom, Mom guess what" or my Jeremiah tells me "Goodnight Mom" in the most grown-up, yet childish way... My heart has been leaping at the sound of my name over the last couple of days... My very special name ... My name that means - I will never leave you, I am in your corner, I am your safe place, I will guide you all the days of your life, I will never give up on you, I will treasure who you are, I will be there when you fall and help you get up, I will help you learn from your mistakes, I will not judge you, I will teach you about the one and only GOD ... And then there is the dream of the voices, who will call my name soon ...I have huge hopes of the day when Joseph and Daisy will say my name and understand it meaning, it depth, and its strength  ...

It is in the name JESUS that we can find all our strength, peace, and love ... We should really say it more during the day ... Whisper it "Jesus, I love you" ... Shout it "Jesus, you are my rock" ... Say it "Jesus be with me" ... Cry it "Jesus, you are my savior" ... Sing it "Jesus, the sweetest name I know."  What power in even typing this last part, as I read it aloud I felt WASHED over with the spirit ...

I will never forget the very tough months home w/ Maggie and in my most desperate moments, I would say out loud,  JESUS, I LOVE THIS CHILD ... JESUS, I LOVE THIS CHILD and there it would come ... The calmness I needed to make it through the moment ...

Let's call on the saviour of the world by name !!!! JESUS, JESUS, JESUS !!!!

In the name of Jesus, we ask for protection for Maggie before, during and after surgery ... Lord Jesus, make this procedure go well ... Infection free and help it to be the 1st step to healing her head and restoring my daughter's skull, skin, and hair ... (pic from the last surgery)

WOW! I think I needed to be reminded how important a mom is to her children and how special it is to hear our children call us mom. There are days when we get tired of hearing it. Just being honest. =)But you are right, we all need to stop and take the time to listen to our children and I mean REALLY listen. Life keeps us so busy that we try to do 3 things at once. My kids are all teenagers or young adults with busy lives. I want to make sure that I'm not missing anything with them.
Your children are all still young and I think what your doing is wonderful.
Then you mentioned the name of our Lord. Those very words moved me too and each one has it's own meaning.
I will keep Maggie in my prayers for a quick and safe healing.
Your are a wonderful blessing to your children. I can't wait to meet Joseph and Daisy.
Thank you for sharing your words for thought.
If some of this doesn't make sense the reason would be, it's pasted my bedtime. lol

What a blessed reminder...Thank you!!! We are in the throws of horrendous terrible 2's around here, and the last couple days all I want to do is run, and I get anxious hearing "Mom" knowing it means chaos and devastation are in it's wake. THANK YOU for the reminder of how very precious this all is...and the reminder that with everything we put our Father through, He doesn't run. And the reminder that I haven't been calling out to Him during this tough time like I should be! Bless you!!

Hugs your way, and lifting Maggie up to the Almighty Lord for a successful surgery!

Gwen,

I loved this post. I am still learning what it means to be a "mama" to my precious baby and love every second of it. What a precious gift to hear her say "ma ma." From the little time that I spent with you, I could tell that you are a wonderful mama to your beautiful children.

Praying for sweet Maggie's surgery and for Joseph and Daisy...

OH my, I have tears, thinking...
Gwen, we are considering adopting again, and have found 2 children in the foster care system we are considering, and today, I was thinking about hearing their voices calling me, "Mama," and then I read of it here.
Should I tell my dear sweet husband, it's a definite sing....Can I be Blessed Mom of Four, Now Five, Now Seven?

Praying now for Maggie,
Robbie

I sit here in tears reading your words that I need to hear. How many times I have thought "Don't call my name again boys!". I know how selfish that is and how our Father would never say that but just the opposite.
Thanks Gwen.....
