THE BLIND SIDE
I simply can not say enough good things about this inspiring movie of love, hope, and courage ... We took Jeremiah's AAU basketball team last night to see it and we all wore our TEAM 147 SWEATSHIRTS and had the honor of answering quite a few questions about our project and heart for the orphans ...
As I watched the movie and studied the actor's face who was portraying Michael Oher, I saw the millions of hurting and abandoned children all over the world and just down the street ... Our responsibility is huge and it is never ending ... We can not turn our face or our hearts when we see a hurting child no matter their age ... Michael Oher is a testimony to the spirit of a survivor ... He was wandering and waiting for someone to care ... He was existing on sheer strength of character ... I am thankful for a heavenly Father that was always there walking with Michael and the millions of others, but that does not excuse us of the responsibility to CARE, to ACT, and to simply be BROKEN for those who have NO ONE ...
I know life is no MOVIE and I am sure there were many times the Tuohy family and Michael struggled to communicate, hurt one another, and just felt this is way to hard, but they didn't give up ... GOD calls us to the hard stuff ... WE ARE BELIEVERS, so it time we put our big girl panties on and stepped up the plate and say HERE I AM LORD SEND ME !!!! I am willing to give of self and resources ... I am willing to love unconditionally ... I am willing to stand in someone's corner and tell them they are not alone ... I am willing to be uncomfortable and tread through it if needed to get to the other side ... I AM WILLING TO CLAIM YOU AS MY OWN ... Isn't that what Christ did for all of us ... He SAID I CHOOSE YOU ... Messy, sinful, mean, uncooperative, damaged YOU to be HIS VERY OWN ...
I could write a book (oh, wait I am ... seriously, I still am) .... LET'S CHALLENGE OURSELVES EACH DAY TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE !!! To never stop seeing through the eyes of Christ ...
Happy Thanksgiving ... love you all ...

My husband and I saw this movie over the weekend, and all I can say is WOW! God even used it in a mighty way to speak to us. I hope more people see it and allow God to change their lives and perhaps the lives of others.

Oh, oh, oh! Was that not the BEST movie???? Shao cried her heart out, and me? I cried a little, but mostly I thought about the great heart of the Tuohy family, and of Michael's sadness early on, and then how the love of a family changed EVERYTHING for him. What a movie!!!!!!!!! LOVED it! Definitely one I would go see AGAIN...and definitely one I will the DVD of. MUST have this to watch again in the comfort of my jammies! :)
Love you! Nancy in CT
oh, i can't wait to see it some day when it comes out on video...Kelly said it was great..Happy Thanksgiving!! kj
Amen Amen Amen! My Best friend and I are coordinators for our county's Heart Gallery. We have moved it 73 times in the past 18 months-the hardest part is that the same teens that were in the gallery in the beginning....are still with us. As we moved it this morning-we just asked the Lord to provide the families for these precious teens who deserve a family!!! I love following your blog and am grateful for 'sisters' who share my heart for the orphan!
Love and blessings,
Christie :)
