Love My Boys ...

This past Saturday all my men (here in the U.S. ...sweet Joseph will be tagging along soon) were at the Vince Young football clinic ... For all you non-sports people, he is the quarterback for the Titans and we LOVE OUR TITANS here in the Oatsvall house. Scott got to work the clinic and the boys had a great time playing football and being with kids there age from all over the Nashville area ...

We love sports in this family and one of the reasons is because we feel it teaches so many life lessons. Scott and I both grew up playing ball and learning about how to compete, have integrity, be humble, learning how to value other's talents, having good sportsmanship, and just some good ole fun ... We teach the 3H's to our boys as the motto behind playing any sport ... HOLY - always play in a way that honors the Lord, HUNGRY- play with a hearts desire to win, and HUMBLE- know that your gifts and talents all come from the Lord ... The humble is always the hardest ... How do you explain to a child that their ability to do something at all comes from a Father. A Father, who desires them to glorify Him in all they do ??? I guess you just have to keep teaching it and modeling it in our own lives ...

Well, I am off to work on my garage sale a little more ... This is not something I am enjoying, but I am doing it anyway ...De-cluttering my life and getting my friends to do the same for a great cause ... our adoption ... We are about $2750 short from having all of the $$$$ for both Joseph and Abigail's adoption ... CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT ???? !!!!! Thank you Lord !!!!

Just an update on the new site ... Should be meeting with a web designer this week, Belmont University's entrepreneur program has chosen us as their project for the year and this is a huge blessing because they will help us with a lot of logistical stuff, contacts, and promotion. The new shirts are being printed as we speak, the hats are on their way to the embroiders, the handbags are simply adorable and sooooooo cool that the refugees are making ... Can't wait to see how God uses Suzanne and I to help other families financially with their adoptions and spread the word about ORPHANS .... YOU ARE SERIOUSLY GOING TO LOVE IT ALL ...

gwen--your question was probably rhetorical, but i thought i'd answer it anyway, because i want you to avoid something that i did.

i would recommend using Scripture memory to reinforce the lesson of humility that you want to instill in the boys (and the girls, i know), even if you don't know if they're quite able to really understand it. that was my mistake; waiting until i thought he was older or old enough to "get it".

james 1:17 attributes every good and perfect gift--which i take to mean, among other things, my abilities--as being from above. john 15:5 says that apart from Jesus, we can do NOTHING. nothing is a pretty all-inclusive word!

so, that's my 2 cents on the subject. on other matters, could i get a sneak peek of the bag? pretty please? i'm dying to see how it turned out!

Love the pics...our fam feels the same about sports...I'm gonna "borrow" your 3H's...love it! I'm trying to get motivated to de-clutter for a big sale, too! Good job! I know that's time consuming. Can't wait to see the new "stuff"...I'll be gettin' my hands on some when I sell all these tees...I've sold a bunch already, and a friend is letting me set up a table at her consignment sale--yay! Hope you're having a great week!

I am sooo ready for the book.. it is going to be AMAZING...
have to tell you a story.. I wore my hat this weekend while we were at the beach... went out on the boogie board.. not going under and a HUGE wave came up and rippped the hat off my head.. I was in total panic... I LOVE that hat.. so I looked around for about 15-20 min.. boys helping.. and finally I just said.. well it would be a miracle if my adoption hat came up... and all of a sudden.. it popped right up in front of me...
I sat there and said.. It is sooo meant to be.. we are waiting for you Isabella..
Have a great week sister...
Love you..

Gwen those are great life lessons. Humble pie is one of the hardest lessons because when you are good at something - it is hard to see that it all comes from God. To a child they want everyone to see and know how good they are. You are doing a great job! You are both such amazing parents.

Praying for another huge pouring from heaven at your garage sale. Can't wait to see the new site!

Lots of love precious friend and sister!

Oh, Gwen,
I truly don't know what to say..... I am sitting here in awe.... our God is so awesome and faithful and I am just blown away that He has already provided the funds for Joseph and Abagail. Thank You Jesus!
I am amazed at how the Lord continuously uses and works through your family. I pray one day I too will be able to serve Him like you are. Please lift our family in prayer.... for our children and for our service.... the doors just keep closing it seems yet I know we are called so I wait upon the Lord.
Can't wait to see your stuff! Just wonderful!
God's Speed,
Love,
