Shared Blessings ...

I haven't had a chance to download pictures yet, but I did want to share what has been going on the last couple of days ... Wednesday Suzanne and I went to M'boro to share Katie's journey and tell them about the amazing children in Uganda ... The women were so gracious and moved ... I met a couple of sweet ladies WAITING for their daughters from China ... I was moved by these two women and their faithfulness to walk this very long journey ... I have always thought of all the precious little girls in China that need a MOMMY/DADDY to wait ... And then my sweet 3rd interim care angel Lola Belle (Now forever named Isaiah) came w/ her mommy and I got to hold, cuddle, and kiss her sweet face ... Melissa (Isaiah's mommy) and Linda (Elly's mommy) are two precious women in my heart ... Becoming an interim care mommy was such an honor and a blessing the Lord allowed our family to experience and I will never forget these two women's faces when I saw them holding their daughters ... Thank you Melissa for coming and bring Isaiah for me to see .... (I will totally post pictures of her soon per Melissa's permission).

Now on to Thursday night ... What an evening of blessing by some amazing singer/songwriters .... This night was to benefit a couple traveling in a couple weeks to pick up their precious daughter from China ... Many came and surround them with love ... I had only recently met Kelly and felt honored they asked me to share about adoption at the benefit ... They are an amazing couple who have waited almost 3 1/2 years ... FAITHFUL is the first word that comes to mind when I think of all they have endure during this process to bring home their daughter home and it reminds me of so many of blog sisters out there WAITING (I admire you all)... Then during a musical set,  one artist said on stage that he and his wife had been talking back and forth about adopting for a few weeks and tonight just sealed the deal ... DID YOU HEAR ME ... Another child will get a family ... LET'S CHANGE THIS NUMBER -147 MILLION ORPHANS .... I am ready to print a t-shirt that says like NO ORPHANS LEFT ...PRAISE THE LORD !!!!

Off to package t-shirts and hats ... YOU GUYS ROCK .... Just wondering if I created a t-shirt that said "YOU BETTER RUN AWAY NOW ... I AM GOING TO TALK ABOUT ORPHANS" ... who would buy one ????  hee hee

Have a blessed weekend friends !!!!

Too funny about the new shirt. I think my 16 year old would want it. I am that woman who gets SO passionate talking about orphans.
Do you have any news for me about the Katie project we were talking about?

I love how the Lord is working through you! What a beautiful thing..... at least one more child will one day find themselves in their family's loving arms because of your obedience to do God's will and because of your love for the orphans..................
God's Speed home little ones....
God bless the children.

I would totally buy that t-shirt!!!! There is so much avoidance of this huge issue!!!! I love it when people stop us constantly and ask us about our children!!!! My heart breaks for them, and my children's too!! Let's take on the world issue! Did you know that if only 9% of those who claim to be evangelical Christians in the world adopted an orphan- there would be no more orphans...and that would be a great day!!!!!

Hello, posted on my own comment as well...but wanted to share about the statistics....We got it out of an American Family Association magazine...October 2008...and I stand corrected it is actually only 7%!!!! If only 7% of the world's professing 2 billion Christians would adopt, there would effectively by no more orphanages!!!!!Puts us to shame on our lack of action on the issue.

Got my hat today! Dosen insisted that HE wear it first, but I was okay with that. Hubby was mowing grass and actually turned the mower off to tell me I looked cute. Way to go, hat designer, Gwen!

Praying, praying!

My heart looks at the overwhelming # of orphans and then I read above that statistically if "9% of Christians adopted an orphan there would be no more orphans"....I have to pause here. My heart breaks still at the lack of awareness on behalf of the orphan.

There are many, many, many orphans world wide that will NOT be matched with family's. In the majority of countries the orphans are not even eligible for adoption. Some countries for example, Guatemala, closed to adoptions, Vietnam, closed to adoptions. So, it is a bigger issue and one that does continually need prayed over and awareness shared and needs for the orphan world wide to be met. In the countries where the children are not eligible for adoption there is still much to be learned and hopefully much that can be done for these precious children who need all people now to step up and speak on their behalf. We must become enlightened together and know and understand the facts before we begin to spread awareness.

I love the "fact" about 9% of Christians adopting, however, that will NOT eliminate the entire orphan crisis. We must become aware and enlightened with our Brothers and Sisters in Christ in order to impact the world orphan situation.

Praying, praying.
