Just Around the Corner and another Down the Street ...

Just Around the Corner sits a girl/woman who has made a sacrifice that is beyond what I can understand ... She is a hero to me ... I spent all of last night starring into the eyes of an angel ... I was overwhelmed w/ emotions that I can not explain for the birth mother of this amazing child (that we are affectionately calling GRACIE LOU) ... I would love for this girl/woman to know what an amazing blessing she is giving to some family ... I want her to know I will never be able to comprehend her pain, but I love her heart for giving her child a chance at life ... I kissed, prayed, cuddled, prayed, feed, prayed, swaddled her and prayed some more ... I am very drained today emotionally and so very full of joy to be the one holding this child and loving her for 17 days ... I promise to give her the best start in life as possible ... I promise to pray over her each day !!!

Down the street is a family waiting for the call ... I have been in their shoes WAITING, WAITING, WAITING, AND LONGING FOR YOUR CHILD MORE THAN YOUR NEXT BREATHE ... I am sure they are wondering if they will be chosen, what is their child like, where is she now, will she be cared for ... I hope to meet this family and assure them she has been cherished and adored ... She was loved in a real way by us, the family that had the privilege of standing in the GAP for these two families ...

I am not sure this is something I can ever do again, but I know God called me in a real way to be the one to journey w/ Gracie Lou these 17 days ... Thank you Lord for this blessing ... Thank you for the glimpse into this world of domestic adoption ... Thank you for opening my eyes to another window into your kingdom ...

Thank you to my sisters, who have checked on me all day because they know my heart and how hard this will be for me the day she goes to her amazing family !!!! I know God has chosen this family before time just like we were chosen to be Jeremiah, Elijah, Emily, Maggie, Abigail, and Jospeh's parents ... Gracie Lou has an amazing life ahead of her and I know God will be smiling down the day she meets her forever family ...

Side Note: obviously I can't post pictures .. I ASSURE YOU SHE IS BEAUTIFUL W/ THE MOST AMAZING LIPS YOU HAVE EVER SEEN !!!

21 kind words.:

Mmmmm. YOU, my dear are being the hands and feet of Jesus right before my very eyes! Thank for that glimpse of goodness!! You are the kind of person I prayed would speak the name of Jesus over my PandaGirl while in China and for the same kind of person to speak His name over our dear little guy in Haiti. You are living out Jesus in the flesh to this baby, to the bio-mom, to the waiting family, to us bloggers and most importanly to your King. Well done, good and faithful servant is right on the edge of His lips...I'm sure of it. ; )

I have been following your blog for a few months now. I am the former neighbor of Angie H. and "found" you through Kristi's blog. I will be praying for all of you these few days! What a privilege. I am about to embark on a similar journey with my cousin's child - which is a very complicated situation and we could be adopting the baby in the end.

Love on that sweet baby - and try to get some sleep!

I love that you listened to God's call to do this and can't imagine how amazing and crazy it is for you all at the same time. My husband and I, as you know, have our little angel from Guatemala and now are putting our info into a book for domestic adoption as well. Kind of scary as I don't know how that will work, but know God has a plan, which sometimes makes me think we need to go to Ethiopia too! Craziness
I love to read about your life with your precious family and pray for you all daily.

She is getting the best start possible. Doesn't it just make you so excited knowing how happy that baby is going to make one family? They are about to get a call that will change their lives forever. I know they will be forever grateful for you.

can't wait to meet her!
I would be an emotional basket case...but can I just say, I am anyway, it might as well be for a real reason and not because my tire was flat or something?

I've been thinking of you and praying for you all morning. I know this is another amazing journey for you - however long or short it will be. God knows your heart and that child's destiny - I believe you have her for this time to pray over her future life. She may not ever know of you, but somewhere deep inside she will somehow know her start in life began with an amazing woman who loves God!

I am sitting here with tears in my eyes thinking of how blessed you all are for this experience. What a lucky child and family to have each other right now. I know when you send her home it will be difficult but your loving care and prayers will be such a help for her.

OH GWEN!!!!!!

God continues to open up doors for you. For your leadership. For your vision and making a way for a little girl. Makes me think of the note... YOU are a woman who will answer a call!
Oh how I love you!

Ok...now that you've got all of us in tears! But blessed tears of joy for this baby girl who gets to be loved on by a momma who has been blessed on the other side of adoption from her momma. I'm sure the Lord has tears in His eyes too for your love being poured out on Gracie Lou! HUGS!!
