Before The Moment Is Gone ....

This will be a moment that will go in my treasure box of memories ... I have been in a room two times in my life as people handed me my daughters, but today I got to be the one walking into the room with a special gift ... A DAUGHTER, A 1ST CHILD FOR A FAMILY, A MIRACLE BLESSING ... I was so nervous, anxious, and blessed to be holding someone's precious treasure ... As the door opened my emotions got the best of me and tears came, but when I saw the smile on Ally Kat's parents (Now named ... Elly) I was overwhelmed with peace and joy ... I handed Elly over to her mommy as she snuggled close to her ... Elly was a perfect angel as we talked about her ... Her sleep schedule, her feeding schedule, her little habits, and all the dreams that were to come ... I loved hearing about how her parents came to the journey of adoption and I shared my own story of adoption ... THIS WAS SUCH A GOD MOMENT ... They thanked me for saying yes when the Lord told me to do interim care and I felt such a presence of the Lord as I knew He had so many things to teach me, share with me and allowed me to experience these past three and half weeks ... Elly we will love you and pray for you always ...

Elly is HOME ... before the beginning of time this was always to be her journey home and I am beyond honored to have been a part of it ... Elly's parents have graciously said they would love to stay in touch w/ us and allow us to see Elly grow up ... JUST ANOTHER BLESSING IN OUR LIFE ...

THANK YOU LORD FOR ALL YOU DO FOR US ... Following you brings so many emotions, lessons, and glimpses of eternity ...

That is one of the reasons I want to do interim care like you are doing, Gwen. I would love to be a part of someone else's dream come true. We will be attending our first class soon.

Awww....tears and all here too, Gwen. Thanks for sharing your journey with Ally Kat with us. I'll have to tell you the story about the foster baby my mom and dad had for 9 months (when I was 4 yrs old) and then gave over to her parents. They were also able to watch her grow up and what an incredible journey it was. Hugs!!

When I grow up, I want to be just like you. I know you have many people who tell you this all of the time, but girl, you are the most admirable lady I have ever "met". I love how you live your life to glorify God. Will you pray for me and others that we can be so brave! I pray for you and your endeavors often. I will say a special prayer for Elly and her parents tonight.

We have had to do the same thing for our newborns that we fostered until their adoptive families were named. The emotionally charged event is so happy and sad all in one. The next morning is always the hardest for me, but then a peace washes over me that that baby is where they are suppose to be. Be kind to yourself today. I will be praying for all of you, Elly and her parents, as well.

As someone once said to me (with regards to our 1st daughter from China's Foster Mother): "Loving them is the easy part, letting them go is excruciating." Kuddos to you for preparing her for her forever family. Your unconditional love of Elly will allow Elly to love her mommy and daddy!

Hey there... thanks for stopping by my blog! Funny, we have a "friend" in common... I post on Katie Davis' blog all the time and have followed her in amazement for some time now!

I'm so glad to find your blog and I will be stopping in on a regular basis now. Where are your girls adopted from? I guess you know by now that three of my four are fruits of adoption! What an awesome thing!

I love your blog, by the way! Ondrea Harrison

As the Mama of a little boy who was loved on by a foster Mama for about 3 weeks prior to coming home, thank you. Our Carson was so very loved during that time...I still send her Christmas photos. Carson and I speak of her often and I know that she will remain in my prayers for all of my life.

What a precious moment, a glimpse into the very heart of our Heavenly Father. How blessed you are indeed to have witnessed God's Forever Family moments as a receiver and a care giver. I can only imagine the emotions you have felt, and the lessons God has been able to teach you.
Blessings,
Robbie

Oh, my eyes just welled up with tears. What a beautiful moment to be a part of. I know Elly's parents will be forever grateful that you loved and nurtured their baby girl for these three precious weeks.

While in the process of adopting our spicy girl, we were moved to pray for her to be held, cuddled and loved on. That was in March of 2003. We found out that her orphanage piloted the "hugging nannies" program (from Half the Sky) in April of 2003. When S.G. came to us, she was vibrant and happy. I am thankful for those who held and rocked her during those vital times.
