BABY SITTING FOR JESUS
Only at the Oatsvall house do things like this happen ... I got an email yesterday from our agency in dire need of a family to do interim care for a 2 day old baby girl ... Anyone who knows me, knows I was totally on board w/in a minute... I told Scott that I figured out what I wanted for my birthday (Oct. 5th by the way) ... He looked at me w/ those wondering eyes and I told him, "There is a baby girl that needs a family for 2 weeks to love on her, pray for her and just be the hands and feet of Jesus." ... After a few persuasive agruments he said if that is what I felt God calling us to do then we would do it ... This is one reason I love this man, he does love my heart no matter how crazy it gets.
So today around 4:30 they are bringing me a baby girl to cherish for the next 2 weeks ... I will ask you all to pray that during these two weeks this birth mother finds the forever family in the profiles she is viewing and this family's heart will be prepared to welcome this angel into their home forever ...
I am over joyed to say the least ... Emily is on poopy diaper duty, Elijah is doing peepee diapers, and Jeremiah has agreed to wake w/ me in the middle of the night to help feed, Maggie & Daddy are on kisses duty ...
Side Note ... Suzanne and I have been to Target and stacked up on diapers, bottles, and many friends pitching in what they have that I will need over the next two weeks (remember it does take a village) ... So stay tuned for some fun middle of the night post ...

Oh how wonderful! I am not surprised one bit because you have the biggest heart I know of. I pray that the birthmother will find peace in finding the right family for this precious child. I will continue to remember her as well. Enjoy the sleepless nights. Can't wait to hear all about it.
Awwww.....what a huge blessing your family is to this little baby girl! My mom and dad fostered a little one when I was 4 yrs old. They had her for 9 months and so desperately wanted to adopt her, but were told no as they already had children. I know this will be a special time for all of you!
Oh Gwen what a great privledge to have this baby the first few weeks of her life to pray over her life and before her forever family is found..we will be praying for this baby girl everyday...
Oh what fun!!!! That would be such a great gift!
Happy Birthday early....mine is the end of the month!
Enjoy your 2 weeks loving on that precious baby girl!!
Blessings,
Carla

That is amazingly awesome!!!! How cool and exciting! And Scott's reaction is FABULOUS. God Bless! I've been reading your blog for a while and I know that that little girl will have all the love of the world thrust upon her during these weeks! I hope and pray that everything goes smoothly, and that God will prepare your hearts for any of the twists, turns, or hurdles along the way. I commend you for following God's leading and commend Scott for his God-centered reaction. Have fun!!!!!! Maybe it will prepare the kids for the new additions from Ethiopia!
