A HARD HEADED HUSBAND !!!

Sorry, but not visiting any post today ... My DH was mowing the grass today and hit the wood fence which proceeded to pop off a board from the wooden fence and hit him in the head ... I hear him yelling for me at the back door on his knees with blood everywhere ... I panic a little cause His eyes were hazy and the gash is about 5 inches on top of his head... Got him to a chair, cleaned the wound and quickly called my friend Suzanne because of course it was time to pick Elijah up at school. Since we are struggling with school anyway I didn't want him to be left (that would not help his situation)... DH refuses to go to the doctor and it is still bleeding (7:30 PM). He says he will get the trainer to butterfly stitch it tomorrow ... I am afraid his brain is cracked and leaking somewhere ... But like I said, he is "A HARD HEADED HUSBAND!!"

sorry no pictures ... I am not speaking to him right now since he has toliet paper stuck to his head ... CAN YOU SAY STUBBORN and LAME????

18 kind words.:

As a nurse that works in neurosurgery, I know a whack like that isn't something funny to mess with. It's probably nothing, but I'll pray your hard headed man will come out of his haze long enough to at least go to your primary doctor, if not the hospital...

Oh my gosh that is not good. I will be praying that he changes is mind and will go to the hospital. You could always tie him up and drag him to the dr's. Men can be so darn stuborn.

oh my goodness! I am so sorry! I am like that too I don't ever want to go to the hosp if I can help it. Get some of that liquid bandage and have it around, it is miracle working! Twice I have had a friend that their kids had a smooth straight gash and thats what the hospital used instead of stiches saying the scar is better. We have used it 2 times instead of stitches and it is great.
Hope he is okay!

Oh my word, I am so sorry because I am busting up over here. He is a man, that all that I can say. Did he get some help today? Really, toilet paper is not going to keep away an infection and it sounds like he needs stitches.

Kathi said...

Gwen, it may be too late for stitches. When you cut yourself that bad and don't get immediate help and suture it up, an infection CAN AND USUALLY DOES set in; and if it's already stitched up, that infection can spread...they're gonna have to reopen the wound and check it; GET HIM TO THE HOSPITAL, EVEN IF YOU DO HAVE TO TIE HIM UP

Wow-- I'm so sorry, for both of you:) I don't do well with blood at all-- what a sweet wife. Corinne and I are trying to figure out a weekend for me to come. I told her that you HAD to be a part of it somehow. Can't wait.

Please let us know how the head is healing up!
