Lost My Brain ...
Ok so my brain is somewhere between Tennessee and China ... Remember today was suppose to be Elijah's first day of kindergarten. I was emotionally prepared. Put on my happy face and did my best supportive mom smile this morning. We all had breakfast together and walk him into his new class. His new teacher says I can pick him up in about 45 minutes. My brain is going "What?" .... I am ready to cut the apron string, I have my tissues already in the car, and packed his snack ... I put on my full "mommy in the know" face told his teacher "OK" and walked out the door and to my car where I fumbled through the mounds of paper that goes along with going to school and there it was in bold print ... TESTING DAY 1 HOUR.
So I tucked my emotions back in for Aug. 22 the ACTUAL first day of school. Perhaps I have had to much time at the pool this summer and I am water logged or still dizzy from all the sun or perhaps thinking about travel to China has pushed me over the edge. Whatever it may be, I have another week of my precious yet dramatic 5 year old red head !!!!
Picture included from one of the many pool days shared with friends at our pool....

You meant to do that....yeah. No one needs to know right? He was at test day just as he should be and now you are all set for kindergarten~ Sometimes I feel scattered too when the kids schedules get a little crazy. Hang in there!!
You've got a lot going on in that head of yours. At least he was where he was supposed to be at the right time! It's a good thing the teacher said something about coming to get him in 45 minutes!!! Enjoy your extra week with Elijah!
You knew that .... it was just in the back of your mind... Because you are on BRAIN OVERLOAD...
Just think , life would be boring if it was simple..
Take care
Kim
No worries, Gwen; you have had just a little on your plate recently.
That sounds so much like something I would do. Just have to look at it as a surprise blessing of a few more days with your boy! I guess I'm not the only crazy person out there. ;)
How strange that they would have testing a week before he starts school. Oh well, enjoy one more week with your little guy. Your pool looks so inviting right now. It was 102 here today. :(
That's too funny! I hate it when that happens! Oh, well, hope you didn't have anything big planned.
LOL...Dailen has begun her count down and we are praying for her teacher!hehe
Cracking up over here!!!!
Another week -- I think ya'll can handle it lounging out by that marvelous pool.(sigh)
Wish we were there.
P.S. Lily was just talking about you guys AGAIN this morning...she misses you as much as her momma does!
You poor thing! Balancing the mommy-load is not an easy thing, is it?
Luke starts K next week, too. And Matthew already started with the 3rd grade this week. Where does the time go????
I've got to remember the tissues for the car next week!
Oh Gwen! That sounds like something I would do! Just look at it as practice preparing for that big day...so it'll be easier the second time around, right?
Enjoy your next few days with your little man! :)

Oh my goodness....that is hilarious. I know it wasn't at the time though. Just consider that "dress rehearsal." Hee-Hee.
Been there, done that. It's nice to know that I'm not the only crazy mom flying around out there. Hang in there and enjoy the remaining days!
HAHA!! That sounds like something my mom would do!
See why I homeschool?? I'd never get it all right - I give you moms a LOT of credit!!!! :) Hey, one more week to enjoy that cute guy!!
Of course you knew what you were doing...it was just a dress rehearsal for the big day!!
