The Head of Our House ...

I am asking for prayer as Scott and Jeremiah head out to a park and set up our grill to feed the homeless. Scott went last week and came back amazed at how God works. Long story short He meet a guy last week that he went to 7th grade with and this guy was naming off people he knew from school and mentioned Scott's name as a really nice guy he knew from 7th grade before he even knew that it was Scott standing in front of him. Also gave a 6'4' 350 lb man a pair of brand new shoes Scott just happened to have in his truck. This grown man weeped. I am so proud of my husband and what an example he is for our family and what an awesome servant of the Lord ....I can't go today because I am home with a sick princess. Feeding the homeless has really changed our lives. We started handing out sack lunches out of our van while we drove around down town Nashville to grilling out and hearing their stories. I ask for prayer for this ministry ....

You Make Me Smile Award

I was given this special award by two special bloggers ... Kimberly over at "Seventhdiamond" and Kim at "JourneytoIsabella" . I didn't cut and paste the description because I am making one up on my own and I am awarding it to all who visit me and that I visit because each and every one of you are special and unique and have changed my life. I look forward daily to what crazy things are going on in the Beckering and Bilby homes, I thrive off Lil Doctor's videos, I am in awe of the Blog Fairy and all she does. My friend Tina's blog is part of my quiet time and I have meet Kimberly and Kim here and just think how blessed I am to know them now and how they encourage my day. My new friend Emily, who is awaiting her referral to Ethiopia has a heart that mirrors mine and I feel my faith growing as I read her posts. I can't list you all, but there is something about each of you that draws me to your blogs each day ... like the pictures from Mommy24Treasures and Jewelsofmyheart that say a million things about their hearts. And because of all this Laura (Annslee mommy) and I have met and are going to the zoo next week.

Update on Hubby & More Blog Presents 4 Maggie

Update on Stubborn Hard Headed Husband ... Went to the school nurse today. Don't you know he is the biggest kids she is going to see all year. She told him that he didn't need stitches and to keep some kind of ointment on it for infection and scarring. I keep asking him every 5 minutes how he feels and he says just fine. He thanked me for my swift action yesterday and the extra care I gave. I took Becky's advice and decided to be Florence Nightingale. He may be stubborn and hardheaded, but he is MINE !!!! Thanks for all the prayers ...

Glinda and Michelle ROCK ... Had two packages to open today. Michelle sent the Lovebug book which I can't wait to read to my kids and Glinda sent the most adorable crocheted sweater and CK panties. Still hiding all panties from Emily and will definitely take this sweater to China. It is so soft and precious, I just know Maggie will love it... Thanks sweet friend !!!!

Thought Kim (Isabella's Mommy)might enjoy seeing the finished product of the Holiday Fun House she sent for the kids .... Now I am not a crafty mom, but my kiddos love doing fun things like this ...

A HARD HEADED HUSBAND !!!

Sorry, but not visiting any post today ... My DH was mowing the grass today and hit the wood fence which proceeded to pop off a board from the wooden fence and hit him in the head ... I hear him yelling for me at the back door on his knees with blood everywhere ... I panic a little cause His eyes were hazy and the gash is about 5 inches on top of his head... Got him to a chair, cleaned the wound and quickly called my friend Suzanne because of course it was time to pick Elijah up at school. Since we are struggling with school anyway I didn't want him to be left (that would not help his situation)... DH refuses to go to the doctor and it is still bleeding (7:30 PM). He says he will get the trainer to butterfly stitch it tomorrow ... I am afraid his brain is cracked and leaking somewhere ... But like I said, he is "A HARD HEADED HUSBAND!!"

sorry no pictures ... I am not speaking to him right now since he has toliet paper stuck to his head ... CAN YOU SAY STUBBORN and LAME????

THANKS BLOG FAIRY ...EVERYONE NEEDS A MAKEOVER ... TO BENEFIT SHOCKLEY FAMILY

I am wandering .....

There are moments these days I am wandering about during my day and feel sad, incomplete, or empty and I know it comes from longing to have Maggie in my arms, so I go to the word and just start searching scripture for anything to fill me up !!! God will usually lead me to a scripture, or someone will have sent me a note or package in the mail or just yesterday my friend Tina Hutchinson sent a prayer for Maggie by email. All these ways and many more are Christ reaching out His hand to me to help me stand back up.

I love you, Lord !!! Thank you for your word that never wavers and for sending your messengers to me in many different ways, because I am weak or you are strong.

II Cor. 12:9 "My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities; that the power of Christ may rest upon me."

Side Note ... Watched "We Are Marshall" last night and there is a scene in the movie when the new coach is asked, "Why would you want this job?" (coaching at the school where the plane just crashed with the entire football team on it) ... His response was something so simple and so profound ... "I look at my family and think of how hurt I would be if something every happen to them and I just thought about a team, a school, and a town was hurting and just thought I might could help." ....

Christ calls us to see the need in others and just help ... We are His hands and feet on this earth .... Love you all and am thankful for each and everyone of you ...

Going Before The Father

I am clinging to the verse that says, "Train a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not stray." The picture is of my new quiet time chair ... We just finished construction on the front part of our house and I created a quiet time chair for myself. The other day I found Emily in it reading to herself. This is what she said, "Dear God, There's wocket in my pocket and you are happy, happy, happy." Okay, so it is a mixture of the bible and Dr. Seuss ... I just cried. It is so important for our children to see us go before the Father !!! Today's post is all about prayer needs. Join me in the comments and post your prayer needs or just pick one of mine and make it your own ...

ASK ME ANYTHING ....

A few friends have done this post and I thought it would be fun ... I am an open book and feel like my heart is fully exposed as I wait to bring my daughter home from China and pray for a daughter and son in Ethiopia ...

Just some background information... I am married to my high school sweetheart. We will be celebrating 17 yrs of marriage this December. He is a man who wanted only 1 child and now at our dinner table he prays for our children and those to come. I am honored to be his wife. I love being a stay home mom and everything that comes with it except for the laundry and the dishes. I am a sport mom not a crafty mom. I got my first and only tattoo (so far) last year on my anniversary. I drive a 10 passenger conversion van that is not cool, but holds all the children I hope God to bless us with.

HAVE FUN AND ASK AWAY ....I will post answers in comment section ...

My Days Are Filled With ...

My days are filled with waking sleeping children and motivating them for the day ahead. Elijah's mornings are rough, but getting better. I read to his class this week in my best Dr. Seuss voice, bought Jeremiah a mouth guard for his first ever flag football game this Saturday, ran a total of 13 miles so far this week and got Emily's hair cut.

Had a slight breakdown last night about Maggie, but thanks to Nikki and her sweet words I made it through. She put it so real to me... I can have my faith placed fully in the Lord and I am allowed to cry too ... which brings me to another "My Days Are Filled With" fabulous friends and family that check in on me, pray for me, and prop me up when I am falling.

My devo this morning was all about God as my friend and it said "Nothing is wasted when it is shared with Me(God)", so I cried out to Him and was desperate for Him to hear my longing need and concerns for my sweet daughter. And He heard me !!!!

Always Be Ready ...

What a week this has been ... God has been so big in my life this week I feel like shouting it from the roof tops....Elijah only had one good day at Kindergarten. He seemed unsure and fearful every other day. The teacher pulled him from my leg on Wed... I spent Tues-Friday all day just sick to my stomach and crying for Him ... I prayed each day that God would give me guidance. If there is one thing I have learned is that God created all my children uniquely different. I know their love languages, I know what their cries mean, I know when they are lying, and when they are being sincere. Elijah was not being a brat this week, he was unsure of this new chapter in his life. I spent each night with him reading, talking and just praying over him. God is really helping me to see big picture with Elijah and also preparing me to do something I never thought I would consider ... HOMESCHOOLING ... I am going to give Elijah till Christmas and see if he works through the anxieties and if not pull him out and home school him till he can go to CPA where Scott and Jeremiah are....I TOLD YOU MY GOD IS BIG..

Next on the list of God showing up big is Maggie ... I seemed to get asked about 100 times a day how I am doing waiting for her. I can honestly say each morning in my quiet time He answers my worries of the day concerning my sweet daughter. I so long to have her in my arms, but I know that waiting is what I have to do right now, so I want God to tell me one day you waited "Well MY Good and Faithful Servant" ... My friend Leslie sent me an amazing scripture this week regarding God's plan on waiting ... Habakkuk 2:2-3 (look it up).... HE SHOWED UP BIG AGAIN...

Thirdly, I got a call from Scott's school and was asked to speak to one of their all girl's bible classes. All I can say is that God anointed our time together. I discussed my spiritual time line. I started with where I was at spiritually at their age, gave examples and took them all the way to where I am today... I think they enjoyed it, but when I was done it was such a refreshing moment to see how God has blessed my life during the ups and the downs and how He has been changing me my whole life for such a time as this.... AGAIN HE APPEARS BIG

Thanks to the Lord for an amazing week of his presence !!!!!!!!!!!! i Stumbled upon this video we made back this summer and how God is using feeding the homeless to change my children as well as me ... Thanks friends for checking in on me ! video
